I hope that everyone had a terrific holiday and has recuperated from all the cooking and eating. Our family had a yummy day and we enjoyed the long weekend by watching movies and hanging out.

I thought I'd share one of our family favorite traditions. For the past ten years our family has had the tradition of making ornaments to add to our tree. We do this every year on the Friday following Thanksgiving. It's one of my most favorite days of the year!

Watching everyone concentrate fully and seriously on painting/making their ornaments brings me joy. The kids look forward to doing multiple artsy projects all the time. Most of my family (mainly the women) have creative bones and like to draw, paint and crafts in general. As you can see in the photo below, Mima is also artistic!

Family traditions can be as simple or detailed depending on the family and what they like to do. Creating them gives everyone involved a loving feeling and they tend to get really excited knowing a family special occasion is coming up.
